The Capital Area Interagency Wildfire & Incident Management Academy (CAIWA) is held outside Bastrop, Texas at the Camp Swift National Guard Training Center. The academy offers a wide variety of courses over two weeks and usually provides the best opportunity for 300/400 level courses, including specialized training.

Lodging & Meals:
Lodging in open bay military barracks is offered at no additional charge. Bunks include a mattress and pillow, and students should bring bedding/sleeping bag, towels, and toiletries.
Students are also allowed to bring tents and camp at the academy. Restrooms and showers are provided.
Tuition cost includes breakfast and lunch, provided daily. Dinner is not provided.
